Gilead House provides a respite in the chaotic lives of the moms and children who come there to work towards realizing life changing goals. In many cases, Gilead House is the only safe and nurturing environment they have ever known. The staff assists the moms in assessing their needs, then in identifying and outlining realistic goals which will help move their families along the path towards independence. We at Gilead House believe that unconditional love is the most powerful tool we use in helping these families create a stronger, more sustainable future.
Our program is rounded out by a legion of volunteers who provide Life Skills classes, child care, house maintenance, tutoring, prayer, grant writing, events and mentoring. To become a member of the Gilead House family is to be fed by the uplifting blessings that selfless giving brings. One cannot actively participate in the positive transformation of deserving lives without being transformed as well.

Building Our Future

BUILDING OUR FUTURE—CONSTRUCTION BEGINS. Construction of the new Gilead House has begun. Our current leased facility allows us to serve only three families at a time. With over 2,000 homeless or at-risk children in Marin County, the need is great. The new facility will double the number of families served, plus provide needed space for education and training. A unit for the resident house manager will enable us to provide consistent on-premise staffing. Our goal is to move into this new home debt free. Join with us to help make this goal a reality!! Your financial contribution or donation of goods or services (ie, sub-contractors such as plumbers and electricians) will make a difference to the families we serve.
